  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed and cold
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, plus more for brushing
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh peaches, diced
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 13 Tbsp heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, heavy cream, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Pour this into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in diced peaches carefully.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface, pat into a rectangle about ¾ inch thick, and cut into desired shapes before placing them on the baking sheet.
  7. Brush tops with cream before baking for about 16 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with heavy cream and vanilla; drizzle over warm scones.
